Metro Techies LLC (MT) is a small technology firm focused on automating manual processes for small to mid-sized firms and government entities. MT also supports in-place technologies while bringing new innovative ideas to the table. Today's office equipment has the ability to be integrated and interfaced with various local and hosted systems. We can assess an organization’s processes and wish lists, and explain the pros and cons of certain technologies. Metro Techies assessment examines, not only a single office, but the facility management processes and how different departments interact and exchange data. Our facility management philosophy is to have an operation functioning together, like a symphony, and not individuals playing in the same space.
Advances in various forms of workplace technology to include cloud applications and software as a service, have made the application of technology more economical to purchase, easier to install, easier to use, and easier to upgrade. Implementing new technologies within facility management projects improves the efficiencies and data analytics of an organization. There has been a tendency to view technologies as quick, easy, and low-cost remedies that meet short-term needs of maintaining and/or enhancing services while using fewer resources. This approach may meet short-term needs but does not always address the longer-term organization’s needs. This limits an organization’s ability to share information across organizational boundaries and to access information from other systems for consistent business analytics. As a result, Metro Techies recognizes the need to provide automated solutions to support small business and government agencies.

Meet The Techies
founder
John Ferguson
John Ferguson founded Metro Techies in 2014, but began his government contracting career, at Aspen Systems in 1995. He provided technical assistance to staff members and DOJ paralegals and attorneys. He continued his progression with Aspen and Gatekeeper providing network/technical support to DOJ for various court trials across the country. In 2000, he provided network/desktop support to DOD/Department of Navy at Washington Navy Yard. John played a key role in the local transition the Navy’s local network to the global NMCI network. The NMCI transition left the Navy’s Postal Division without any technical support, at which time John teamed up with Metro Mail Services to manage and support for postal equipment, desktops, servers and network components from 2005 to 2017 through various prime contractors.
John Ferguson began Metro Techies in his home state of Maryland in 2014. with the goal of developing a strong, vibrant government contracting business, dedicated to providing job opportunities across various federal agencies.
Over the past decade, John Ferguson and Metro Techies has supported multiple contracts as a sub-contractor on behalf and in support of the federal government. MT currently manages a mailing equipment rental contract. This experience as a Prime contractor – given our small business size standard – as a trusted manager of all manner of contracts successfully distinguishes us on this procurement as a primary Value Proposition.
